Tommie Pierson Jr. for County Assessor

An assessor who's not just about a spreadsheet — but about the story behind the spreadsheet.

Fair Assessments

Property values should reflect reality, not guesswork. Mass appraisal done right protects homeowners from unfair spikes.

Real Transparency

Homeowners deserve to see how their number was reached, in plain language, before the bill ever arrives.

Accountability

An assessor's office that answers the phone, explains the appeal process, and treats every neighborhood the same.

Who he is

Tommie Pierson Jr. served as a Democratic member of the Missouri House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021, representing the 66th district across parts of St. Louis County and the city. He earned a degree in Applied Mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from UMSL, and he has worked as a teacher, a business manager, and a pastor.

In the legislature he worked across party lines on fiscal responsibility, education equity, and neighborhood investment — guided by a simple principle: government works best when it listens to and respects the people it serves.

"That math background will be key, because you're dealing with mass appraisals."
Tommie Pierson Jr., on St. Louis Public Radio's "Politically Speaking"
